TRIBED FUN DAY on 1st August 2026
Was an amazing day held in the entrancing woodlands at Poets Acre, Swanton Novers so magically prepared and held by Tim Sanderson.
The woodlands was the backdrop for mixed skills outdoor activities for disabled children to access including fire pit cooking, wisteria crown/ tiara and wand making, dressing up and fabric play, clay face painting.
These activities became the start of children's involvement in outdoor theatre.
The theatre group of William Petrie, Joe and Finn Green, with puppeteer Tiffer Cundy brought laughter to a magical story in which the children were led by Dandi, the woodland elf, in search of the lost Rainbow Dragon.
Clay play and painting in the woods for trail mapping and offerings to the dragon was punctuated with percussionist Finley Meehan drumming the throng through the adventure.
TRIBED family and friends shared experiences of their lives around the fire pit and helped develop the resource gathering for TRIBED website.
Thanks to Dom and Cheryl's pizzas made fresh on site in the Bordolli Pizza Van needed to satisfy hungry people.
A big thank you to all the helpers on the day and those who contributed before the event. We raised £657 on GOfundme and £230 cash donations which funded the event in full.
Feedback from the day has been so encouraging as the children, parents and helpers had such a feel-good, elemental, adventurous shared time.
Some Wheelchairs had a battering on the bumpy woodland paths but their users did not want to stop and did not miss out on the fun!!!
