Immie’s story

Immie was showing signs of 6 months or more delayed development in at least two areas of Early Years Foundation Stage development.

Her nursery teacher recommended that her parents contacted Portage  (a free home-visiting educational service for pre-school children with additional needs).

As she showed signs of verbal delay, sensory sensitivity and disorganised movement patterns, a Senior Portage Practitioner accessed her educational needs, supported parent’s in finding an appropriate early years setting and helped with Immie’s transition whilst settling into the educational setting.
